About This Test
The Siblings DNA test uses statistical probability to determine if a tested individual share one, both of no common parents with the other tested person. The results of the test provide information regarding the amount of common DNA shared by two people.
The results of this test are achieved through a ‘siblingship index.’
If the index is higher than 1.00, this is an indication that the tested individuals are likely to be either full or half siblings. If the index is lower than 1.00, the results will reveal that there is no relation between the tested parties.
Brothers
Male siblings who want to know if they have the same biological father are encouraged to take the Y Chromosome Test, which provides highly accurate results.
Sisters
Female siblings who want to know if they have the same biological father are encouraged to take the X Chromosome Test, which will require an additional sample from the mother. (in instances where the female siblings share the same mother)
